Rosalie is so Big!!!

We went to the doctor for her second round of shots and she was amazing. The second I picked her up she stopped crying. Such a brave little girl. The doctor said she is a perfect little baby and she is doing great. He says that a tooth is on its way and should appear in the next couple of months. So I guess she will be suffering for a little while. Her stats are:
Weight: 14 lbs. 10 oz (65%tile)
Height: 24.5 inches (58%tile)
Head: I don't really remember

She is just so fun, I thought I would share her growth with all of you.

3 Wonderful Years

I can't believe it has been three years, it has gone so fast, and yet it seems like we have been together forever. I'm so lucky to have such an amazing man, a great husband and father to my Rosalie.

We exchanged gifts this morning because I am always so excited. Sean got me an amazing outfit I have been wanting from Banana Republic, and I got him a couple of skinny ties that he loves. We are Mad Men lovers, and totally want to dress like the show, can you tell?

My Baby is So Old: 4 Months!

My little monster is getting so big, I just can't believe how fast it goes by. She is now 4 months old, as of the 17th. She is very smiley and fun. She has grown in so many ways. I love watching her learn new things. She rolled over, I caught it on video, and now she won't do it anymore. I guess she hated it. She still loves standing, here is a pictures of her doing it, it is very hard to catch her leaning on something alone on camera because she gets excited and tries to jump and ends up sitting back down. She has her new jumper toy and absolutely loves it. She is totally into discovering all the toys attatched to the jumper, it is very cute. And I love when she gets excited and starts jumping. She laughs, but not a real giggle. I just don't know how to make her laugh super hard, she is a tough one. She will squeal, and I think she starts to laugh but scares herself in the process and then stops. It is kind of funny. She loves to talk, especially to Sean, everytime he comes home from school/work she just starts talking right away. She is very squirmy on her tummy when she is angry. I will put her facing one direction and then I turn around and find her turned 90 to 180 degrees. She is definitely a mover. She also reaches for everything you can imagine, my drink, my food, my phone, my spoon, all of her toys, and her pacifier. And of course she tries to put everything she reaches for in her mouth to chew on it, I think she might be teething. Here is a picture of her chewing on her apple toy.
I had a little photo shoot of her at Target, she was not in a good mood, but there were a couple of cute shots. I think it was just too hot in their studio and she did not like it.

Now onto the sleeping habits, I think she was not feeling good and that is why she didn't sleep well, I attribute it to the fact that she might be teething, so I gave her some tylenol and she slept well again at night. But I don't want to give it to her all of the time, so hopefully she will do ok without it. I only gave it to her for a couple of nights, but it seemed to help. She is so funny right now, she drives me crazy because she takes her pacifier out of her mouth now and then gets angry as if someone else did it. It is funny to watch when you aren't really tired. She likes to take it out of her mouth and chew on the side of it instead of suck on the binkie part. She is sleeping better at night, but her naps are still awful. She takes catnaps, like 4 short 30 minute to an hour naps throughout the day. I know she wants more sleep because she becomes such a grouch, but I just can't convince her to sleep longer. I go in because she is crying and I try to get her back to sleep, but as soon as she sees me she smiles and starts jabbering. I am at a loss of what to do. I probably should let her cry, but she doesn't seem to fall back to sleep, she just gets more worked up. Oh well, I guess the days of great naps are over, hopefully not.

Pacifier

I don't know what to do, I need some advice. I think Rosalie is addicted to the pacifier. She won't go to sleep without it, and I think that is the reason why she has been waking up so often the last couple of weeks. She wakes up and wants me to put it back, and then two minutes after I get in bed she has dropped it again and wants me to go put it back. I would really like to sleep longer, and so today I made her go down for her naps without it and tried to get her to bed without it. She cried for almost an hour with me trying desperately to get her to calm down. It didn't work an I caved in and gave it to her. Does anyone have any suggestions on what I can do without making her cry so much?
On top of that I think her teething is worse this week, her bottom gum is so swollen and she drools so much. In fact I went to pick her up when she woke up from one of her naps and she was sleeping in a puddle of drool, disgusting. Poor baby. She also tries to bite anything that is put in front of her, toys, blankets, spit up rags, my shoulder, you name it and she tries to bite it. I just wish that if her teeth are coming that they would just break through already and give her a break. Any suggestions on anything I can do for her with this as well would be very welcome. Thanks all!!!

The Great Outdoors

Rosalie loves to be outside. She just totally enjoys every minute of being out of the house, whether it is on a walk or in a place where she can people watch. Last week we had the chance to go to Seven Peaks, and she absolutely loved it. She loved the water and the people and the noises and the sunshine. She took a couple of short naps while we were there, but mostly just enjoyed the comotion. I also was very daring and hiked the Y with Aubrey and Rosalie. Rosalie rode in my little pouch carrier. She loved looking around and enjoying the view and eventually fell asleep due to the rythmic movement of my walking. She was so cute. We had a lot of fun. I was totally worn out after the hike, and I am excited to try and do it again soon. It is a great workout. Here are some fun pictures from Seven Peaks, our hike, and just some general fun pictures.

Healthy Living

Okay, so really this has to do with diet, exercise, and weight loss. I have always just loved to eat and eat and eat and always whatever I wanted. Then later I feel fat and regret eating everything in site and not being quite the slimmer size that I wish to be. Sean loves to eat too, so we tried eating healthy for the first part of our marriage, but as the first year goes we gained our bit of marriage chub, without even noticing. Well that was all fine and dandy, but then I got pregnant and I wanted to eat healthy for the baby. So we did eat really healthy and didn't keep too much junk in the house but I of course would have my snacks when I wanted them and didn't deprive myself of anything so that Rosalie would get all of the nutrients she needed. Well once Rosalie was born and I started nursing I was hungry all of the time, I mean ravenous. But Sean was dieting, and let me tell you, he looks amazing. He is definitely an inspiration. I can't believe how good and dedicated he is to eating healthy during the week and exercising and only having junk on the free day. So I started doing it too to try and lose my pre-pregnancy weight that I gained before I got pregnant. I know this sounds rude but I had already lost my pregnancy weight within the first month, so I just have been working on getting to be what I weighed before we were married. At first I lost nothing for an entire month, it was very discouraging. But in the last three weeks it has just started coming off, and I am so excited so I had to brag about it. I feel like I am getting to be in the best shape I have been in for a couple of years and I feel really good and I am definitely seeing some muscle tone in my arms that I have never had before. It feels good to feel good. I am sore sometimes from my workouts, and I don't make it to the gym 6 days I mostly go 4 days a week and either walk with Rosalie or clean the house intensely on the days I don't go to the gym. But it has just been so nice to finally feel like I am doing the right thing to get into shape. I believe it has everything to do with feeding Rosalie. I think the extra calories that my body uses to make milk has given me the edge that I needed to lose this weight. I definitely recommend nursing to everyone who can when they have babies, I understand there are circumstances where that is just impossible. But it has made me feel fantastic. I feel so great right now, and Sean is getting in such good shape. It is fun, so hopefully next year when he graduates we will both still be in pretty good form and we can go on a fun vacation. I know that this probably is an annoying post to some people, but I just felt like sharing how good I feel. If you want to know about our diet or exercise program you can always ask.
